Historians often write historiographical essays on broad topics. How do you find them?
1) Scholarly books on the topic will often include essays on sources which mention the most important primary and secondary sources. Introductions also often include historiographical content. Find them through IUP Libraries's catalog or the I-Search Discovery Tool. Both are available through IUP Libraries' web page http://www.iup.edu/library/
2) Search in library journals and databases for scholarly articles on the topics. Scholarly articles will generally include some historiographical content as well as sources consulted. Some articles will specifically be identified as historiographical essays.
