Welcome New Faculty

Welcome to IUP and the University Libraries!

As you plan your syllabus, please keep IUP Libraries’ resources, services, and places in mind. We offer a rich variety of paper and electronic sources from early printed books to the latest electronic articles.  What we do not have we can probably get for you through Interlibrary Loan.

Our librarians can assist you and your students in formulating research inquiries, finding relevant sources, evaluating them and citing them correctly and provide training in such skills through one-on-one reference interactions, course related instruction sessions, credit bearing information literacy courses, walk-in workshops or online tutorials. Our four floor building is a great place for students to study alone or work  in groups and offers an environment designed to facilitate such work.

Whether it is hot news or a cool drink,
quiet study or places for animated group study, a scholarly source or a popular read, our library has it all for you and your students. Plan to bring your students in for an instruction session or suggest they make an appointment to meet individually with a librarian to work on assignments.
