Changes to Library Operations and Facilities

Reference Support

During Summer 2020, IUP librarians will offer chat and email reference support following the schedule below:

Session Reference Support Availability
Early Summer (May 11–May 29) No reference services available.
Summer I (June 1–July 3) Monday through Friday, 10:00 a.m.–1:00 p.m.
Summer II (July 6–August 6) Monday through Friday, 10:00 a.m.–1:00 p.m.

Online Library Services and Remote Support

If you have a question or need help using an electronic resource, use this page to connect with a librarian or find self-guided materials to help you out. Library chat is available from 9:00 a.m. - 6:00 p.m. Monday through Thursday, and from 10:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. on Fridays (check the lower right corner of the screen for a chat button!).

Additionally, librarians are available for online consultations via multiple methods - email, chat, and (where possible) the Zoom online meeting tool. Consult our Make an Appointment page to find out which librarian can best help you. 

IUP Libraries Databases

Our extensive collection of research databases is available to IUP students, faculty, and staff from anywhere in the world. Select your database by subject, vendor, or content type. While off-campus, you will be asked to login through IUP's Single Sign-On service (using the same username and password you'd use to access MyIUP).

You may also use the IUP Virtual Private Network (VPN) to access our resources. Visit the Virtual Private Network page for instructions on setting up VPN access.

Interlibrary Loan

Electronic interlibrary loan service through ILLiad is available! You can request articles through ILLiad (just remember that fulfillment of the request depends on other libraries' ability to lend materials; you will be notified if we cannot complete your request).
