Public History Course Research Projects: IUP and Indiana Area History

This guide contains the research gathered and presented by students in IUP's public history courses. They cover a range of topics, but largely concern history local to the University and Indiana region.

Introduction

Across these pages and within these student projects you will learn about the history of IUP and the Indiana community, and discover resources that will aid in your own research projects.  Project researchers utilized resources found at the IUP Libraries, within Special Collections, and local government resources.

Dr. Theresa McDevitt is the embedded librarian in these public history courses, assisting students with their research and providing them with insight into the Indiana community.  The “Getting Started” research guides found within each project were designed by Dr. McDevitt.
